Some Etiquette Guidelines for the \#AynRand Channel
1. Begging for channel operator status will not get you
said status.
2. Please think about what you want to say before you
type. Do not use ALL CAPS or multiple punctuation
marks (????, !!!!, etc.) excessively.
3. If a discussion is most appropriate for private messaging,
then move it to private messaging (the IRC /msg command).
4. Seemingly arbitrary assertions will be questioned.
Either back them up or back down.
5. Some topics which have gotten old real fast, but are
sometimes necessary: Libertarianism, David Kelley,
Nathaniel Branden, the crud on alt.philosophy.objectivism.
If you want to bring one of those up in conversation,
be prepared for some groans.
6. Incessant promoters of irrationality or anti-Objectivist
positions will be kicked. This includes religionists,
Kelleyites, Libertarians, etc. You are welcome here if
you want to learn about Objectivism. You are not if you
want to destroy it.
Possibly more to come later. These should help you and your
fellow users of the channel have a more civil and productive
relationship.
